CAPACITY BUILDING FOR COMMUNITY CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

In support of providing special medical care for disabled children in our remote communities, Kathu Solar Park partnered with Uhambo Foundation, a NPO geared towards facilitating support for people with disabilities.

Two outreach Clinical Services Vehicles was procured and specifically equipped for occupational therapy and physiotherapy services by Uhambo Foundation.   We recognize that these vehicles are essential in the rural and remote communities that surround Kathu Solar Park, as generally these community members aren’t able to access centralized clinics.

The vehicles will officially be handed over to the Department of Health as a donation after three years and the Department will continue to not only transport medical workers to the homes of disabled children, but also ensure the patients receive the necessary assistance on site, which is a key enabler of this project.
